Charity During Ramadan:
Ramadan is the blissful month that is celebrated by Muslims with great devotion. The Holy month of Ramadan teaches us many lessons like patience, unity, self-resilience, and most important helping others. Ramadan is the time when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. But along with fasting many other virtues are practiced in this month.
Ramadan gives us a lesson of charity and helping others with our Sadaqah and Zakat. Charity is the best way of helping our Muslim brothers and sisters in need. Allah (SWT)
gives us a golden chance to do charity more in Ramadan. This not only helps others but helps us as we get double the rewards and blessings from Allah Almighty.
Let’s find out how our charity can benefit people in need and what role we can play in helping others in the blessed month of Ramadan
Different Types of Charity:
In Ramadan, many types of Charity are given by Muslims around the world. Here are some common types of charity that Muslims give:
- Zakat – 2.5% of total savings given once a year by people who have more than a certain amount of wealth.
- Sadaqah – A voluntary act of kindness, whether big or small, given from the heart.
Fidyah – A donation given by those who are unable to fast due to illness or old age, to help feed the hungry. - Kaffarah – A way to make up for missed fasts by feeding the poor.
- Zakat-ul-Fitr – A special charity given before Eid to ensure everyone can celebrate.
At Ehsaas Foundation, you can give to any of these charities to help those in need and make a real difference this Ramadan!
Significance of Helping the Needy in
Ramadan:
Charity is the core principle of Islam. Our religion always emphasized generosity and helping others in need. The acts of charity are practiced more in the month of Ramadan
as taught in Islam. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was the most generous person and he also increased acts of charity during Ramadan.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:
“The best charity is that given in Ramadan.” (Tirmidhi 663)
Thus, Muslims should engage in donating more during Ramadan as it is the best form of charity. The Charity given in the month of Ramadan is the best way of attaining rewards and Divine Pleasure.
How Zakat and Sadaqah can Transform Lives:
For many people around the world, Ramadan is a difficult time due to poverty, displacement, and food insecurity. While some of us break our fasts with delicious meals, millions of others struggle to find even a piece of bread.
Your generosity during Ramadan can be a source of hope and happiness in someone’s life. Different ways through which charity can make an impact are:
- Providing Iftar meals: With your Sadaqah Ehsaas foundation distribute food packages and cooked meals to ensure no one goes hungry at Iftar time.
- Offering shelter and medical aid: Your donations help provide housing, healthcare, and emergency relief for those in crisis.
- Supporting education: Charity funds provide scholarships, school supplies, and educational programs to empower the next generation.
By giving during Ramadan, donors play a crucial role in uplifting the most vulnerable members of society, bringing them comfort and dignity.

Benefits of Charity During Ramadan:
1. Multiplied Rewards
Ramadan is the best time to give to charity. Muslims get much more rewards for this act in Ramadan as compared to other months of the year.
Allah says in the Quran:
“The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] that sprouts seven ears; in each ear is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261)
Every dollar given in charity is returned in blessings, both in this life and the Hereafter.
2. Purifies Wealth and Soul
Zakat and Sadaqah cleanse our souls. It removes our sins and purifies our wealth.
Allah commands:
“Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them to increase.”
(Surah At-Tawbah 9:103)
Charity teaches us gratitude and detachment from materialism.
3. Helps Those in Need
Millions of people struggle for food, shelter, and basic needs. Charity done in Ramadan helps the people to spend their fasts peacefully.

Even a small act of giving can change someone’s life.
4. Opens the Doors of Jannah
Charity is a way to Paradise. The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Paradise has gates, and the gate of charity is for those who gave Sadaqah.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 1897)
5. Eases Hardships and Brings Barakah
Charity removes difficulties, it increases our wealth as promised by Allah (SWT).
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Muslim 2588)
Giving for the sake of Allah ensures endless barakah in our earnings and well-being.
6. Increases Love and Brotherhood
When we give, we create a sense of unity and compassion in the community.
The Prophet (PBUH) said:
